Coy and I have been talking about bringing some more on purpose prayer times into the Saturday night community. I’ve been watching this work in our middle school ministry and the outcomes are hard to describe. Let’s just say God’s breath and words are hard to describe, because we can never manufacture them on our own. We can only posture ourselves in places and in times to be really open to feeling and hearing them and then God does the rest. God gives rest and God provides rest.
We hope to provide some spaces for this to happen in December.
But before we do that, we think it’s important and valuable to hear other voices who have found a way to be still and let God speak. It’s so easy for our own ego to speak for us and for us to mistake what we hear as hearing from God. And we want to quiet the ego down and be still to receive.
I hope you’ll take some time to watch this video from Phileena Heuertz.
Coy watched and and shared it with me. Wherever you are. Whatever you do. Every human being needs to know that God still speaks. God is still speaking. And all of us need this space to hear and to receive so that the fruits of our prayers will be evident in the actions of our lives.
